Decisions, decisions, decisions...

First let me start out with a quick correction: After many phone conversations with my landlord, the gas company and the post office it has been determined that the correct address for Bike Hub is 1107 N. Main St. Suite 109.

It seems that the decisions that need to made are never ending. What location to choose, what products to offer, which suppliers to use, store layout...ect. I am happy to announce that some of those decisions have been made...big weight off my shoulders. The location has been finalized, some supplier relations have begun and construction is underway.

Now comes the fun part of the decisions. Time to put it all together from design to conception...My wife will be and intricate part of the design process. She seems to have an excellent knack for colors and and how to flow it all together.

I am also pleased to say that the building process is now complete, with the help of my Dad who weathered the snow storm and drove up from Kentucky. (Thanks Dad)

Now that all the drywall work is done, thanks to Mike at MK Drywall (highly recommend if you are in the need of drywall work), we can begin painting. I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone that took time out of their Saturday evening to spend it at the shop with paint brushes in hand. The shop looks AWESOME!!! Thanks Mom

Time to put it all together. Can't wait to see some new bicycles on display (right now I have to settle for my Gary Fisher Rig I have on the work stand).

Hope to see all of you in April when we open! Until next time...

In the beginning...

I guess I'll start out by introducing myself. My name is Rich McNaughton Owner / Operator of Bike Hub which will open sometime in March. I would like to start out by expressing my deepest gratitude to my family and close friends for all of their support, well needed advice and endless nights of discussion while drinking very good  beer (Fat Tire for me).

A little about my background. I was riding a bike at a very early age. I was probably racing bicycles (BMX) before a lot of the kids my age could even ride a bike. This I believe stemmed from my Fathers passion, not sure if it was a passion for cycling as much as a way to bond and spend time with my brother and me. I do know that those were some of the best times of my life. Race day was always a great day for us, we would pack up our bikes and gear and take off for the track (usually stopping by Pullman Bay to pick up a pizza for on the way). The whole ride there was filled with anticipation. It usually wasn't until we got to the track and unloaded everything that I started to settle in. I would find friends that I only got to see on race day and we would spend the little bit of time we had before practice just being kids. As Bryan Adams song Summer of '69 stated...those were the best days of our lives.

Fast forwarding some years... I became the Manager of CA Bicycle Sales and Service (Formally known as Bicycle Sales and Service owned by Tom Houston in Coldwater). It was at that time that the passion hit me once again. I attended The Barrnett Bicycle Institute where I became a Certified Bicycle Mechanic and wanted everyone I met to ride a well built and reliable bicycle. It was my goal to put people on the best bike for their particular riding style. Well CA Bicycle Sales and Service is no more...so I decided that it was time that our community gets a bike shop that they can call home.

A famous leader once said, I have a dream...those might be the four most inspirational words I have ever heard. Granted my dream may not seem as important a dream, but still my dream. So the birth of Bike Hub began. I want Bike Hub to be a gathering place for cycling enthusiasts to come and hang, talk with our sales staff and enjoy themselves (be part of the family). I also want the people that are just getting started to be able to feel comfortable coming in and asking questions, If you don't ask its hard to find the answers. Our sales and service staff will be more than willing to help guide you on your way. (who knows you might even have a question that stumps them)!

Bike Hub will offer a complete line of bicycles, Road, Mountain, Hybrid, City / Bike Path and kids bikes. We will also have top of the line parts and accessories, helmets, clothing, shoes and a nutrition center. Bike Hub will sponsor weekly outdoor rides as well as offer free spin classes (BYOT bring your own trainer). If you don't have a trainer not to worry as you can rent one from us for the class.

Bike Hub will be located at 1107 N. Main St. Suite 109, Celina OH 45822. Our hours of operation will be Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm and Sunday by appointment.
